Volume: 2
Amy, April Meier's older sister, survives a plane crash.
Volume 1 mentions April Meier's older sister, Amy, who handled the purchase of the Ramona estate for April. Amy popped in and out of my life, usually on her whim. As mentioned before, she didn't sail much. She flitted about on the fringes of The Club though, sometimes dropping into parties or weddings. A CPA, she fancied herself a big shot in business and traveled often to service her clientele.
One such client had shady offshore dealings and was based in Puerto Rico. Amy was returning from San Juan on their corporate jet, the first leg of which, stopped in Cozumel. The pilot tried to land in a tropical storm at night and crashed three hundred yards short of the runway. He paid for that mistake with his life. The copilot was seriously injured. Amy, sitting behind the copilot, was banged up but managed to escape the wreckage and crawled away. She and four others, plus the copilot, were rescued and taken to a clinic forty-five minutes after impact. Twelve hours later, she was in a hospital in Houston.
She suffered a few broken ribs, lots of bruising but not much else, except that over the course of a couple of years, she changed from being a normal person into an intolerable, vindictive bitch, eventually directing her revenge at me.
