Paganism 5: Ostracized

Asked to not visit while denial rages on.

One of my aunts called me trying to obtain news of my mother's condition. We discussed our common ground that refutes the ridiculous "religion" of Christian Science. Even with her concern and her deep spiritual base, she could not get into a conversation with my father (her brother!) that made any sense regarding my mother's condition.

The undeniable fact was that it remained my mother's belief system no matter how stupid. So, if she wanted to kill herself, no one would step in to prevent it (not that they should) because it fell under the basic freedom to practice antique and unproven ideas. My cold approach, rooted in the physical world, was not welcome in Christian Science so I was asked to sit outside.

My aunt, her daughter and I wondered about the mystery of what put us here. It is not knowable, so in the meantime, we rejoice in the world in which we exist. Like anything else in life, it comes with a price and the price is responsibility. We follow logical guidelines to maintain it. Then, at the end, for equally unknowable reasons, we leave.
